Spring Break!!

My spring break is coming to an end, so I'll update all you fine people on what has been happening to the wonder that is me. My wonderful husband and I took our first road trip together to California and visted Disneyland. It truly is a magical place. I always loved road trips growing up, so I was especially excited to go on my first one as a married woman. So, with our ipods charged, snacks ready, and the back of the car converted into a bed for whoever wasn't driving, we set off. Ben and I have noticed that traveling brings out fights in us. However, this trip was nothing but happiness and bonding. We stopped by the outlets on the way, which I always want to do but never seem to have the chance. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised that we got great quality for little cost. And it was conveniently, and literally, right across the street from Disneyland. Monday night, we strolled through Downtown Disney and I had my second ever alcoholic drink in public (more on my birthday later). Tuesday, we explored the park as a couple and wore ourselves out going on all the rides we wanted, sometimes repeatedly. That night, we met up with Laura and Jordan and had dinner. Of course, we had to have a visit from the balloon guy.

If you can't tell, Ben is a pirate, complete with parrot and sword. On Wednesday, we returned home after a late breakfast. Yesterday, I had an interview with Young Rembrandts, an after school program which teaches kids art. I observe a class on Monday and if it works out, I potentially start teaching in about a month. I'm really excited about this job, because it's good pay, good hours and most importantly, merges two of my loves: art and kids. I'm also a little scared, because it's my first real job in the real world where my boss isn't also family. Our new furniture came today: A coffee table and a desk for Ben. We had the delivery guys just drop the table in the living room so that we could make a space for it in the studio. Unfortunately, when we got to it, we hard the hardest time getting it through the door. Eventually, we just took it apart and put it back together in the studio. It looks great and was good motivation to clean. I'm starting to like this comtemporary look. Tomorrow, Ben takes me to the Renn Fest and on Sunday, I'm going out with the girls for drinks. Calm down, Jesus' first miracle involved alcohol. Then, it's back to the monotony of school.
